Overview

Nestled on the quieter eastern end of Venice’s island, Trattoria Dai Fioi (Venezia Biennale) is a true gem for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine, especially those seeking an unhurried dining experience far from the usual tourist crowds. The restaurant’s location on Calle Seco Marina offers a welcoming retreat where locals gather, and discerning visitors can savor dishes crafted with care and tradition.

At the heart of the menu lies its exceptional pizza, a standout for many patrons. From the robust and flavorful Pizza Portobello to the spicy kick of the Diavola Pizza and the traditional charm of the Pizza Romanesca, the dough is consistently light, perfectly baked, and accompanied by fresh, high-quality ingredients. Beyond pizza, the kitchen showcases fresh homemade elements like Pappardelle Fresche Fatte In Casa and the classic Cacio e Pepe Pasta, illustrating a genuine Italian culinary approach that respects regional flavors.

The dining space enhances the overall experience. Though the facade may appear modest and understated, the interior unfolds into a sizeable and comfortable dining room that opens onto a charming patio. This outdoor space offers the choice of sun or shade, ideal for leisurely meals paired with an Aperol Spritz or other refreshing drinks. The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual and refined, perfect for both intimate dinners and small gatherings.

Guests repeatedly highlight the attentive and friendly service, which creates a warm welcome from start to finish. Whether helping with the menu or engaging playfully with language and local customs, the staff’s hospitality contributes significantly to the restaurant’s inviting ambiance.

Trattoria Dai Fioi caters to those who appreciate traditional Italian flavors served in an authentic, unpretentious setting. It rewards patients willing to venture beyond Venice’s central bustle with genuinely memorable food—whether it’s a crave-worthy fried polenta starter, a perfectly grilled cut of meat, or the beloved tiramisu desserts that cap off the meal beautifully.

In sum, this trattoria is a remarkable spot for anyone wanting to experience the real taste of Venice through classic dishes and a tranquil environment. Its blend of quality ingredients, heartfelt service, and a peaceful location makes it a must-visit for pizza aficionados and Italian cuisine enthusiasts alike.

Great pizza spot with an extensive menu. One of our party got one of the best cheeseburgers she'd ever had. We started with the fried polenta and it was highly craveable. The pizza was excellent. Great drink selections. Fair prices. Not the kind of place you'd be drawn into from the street (if you could even find it), but if you like casual dining and extremely good pizza, put this place on your list. It's on the eastern end of the island away from the touristy hustle. Many Italians seemed to eat here. The place almost seemed closed from the front, but it had a sizeable dining room that opened up in the back to a fantastic patio with plenty of seating, shady or sunny. Obviously high-quality ingredients and everyone in the kitchen knew what they were doing. Would have eaten here more had we found it sooner.

Service, food, and atmosphere were all top notch. We got a pizza and some pasta. Both dishes were absolutely fantastic. Along with delicious food, the staff were some of the friendliest I've encountered in Venice so far. It's a decent walk from the tourist areas of Venice, but it is well worth it.

Some of the best pizza I have had! From the get-go Shakil was very attentive to us and very friendly, even getting my mum to order in Italian to everyone's amusement. Fast service and nice pizzas. Seems like a popular place that can get a bit busy later in the evening.

Great local restaurant. We didn't have a reservation, so we arrived early before it got crowded. The service was fantastic, and the food was really good. The entire family left feeling full. We loved this place so much that we had a second dinner here on our last night in Venice.

Hosted us without a reservation despite the busiest of afternoons due to the proximity to the marathon finish line. Great staff and even better food. The very best meal we had in Venice over the past several days. Good value too.
